Redox battery
Luichart has been able to modify a fluoropolymer to give it electric conductivity and yet able to withstand the extreme corrosive environment within a Redox flow battery which often use Sulphuric Acid electrolytes.
Energy Scavenging
Although energy scavenging uses well established and well known principles, the challenge is to find an efficient method by which the energy in the surrounding environmental can harnessed and then transformed to provide power for onboard equipment, like sensors and our own High Performance RFID tag. The use of modified fluoropolymers and the innovative coating of polymers with metals, has enabled Luichart to increase the effectiveness of energy transformation and storage.
Earlier this year we identified a new and unique method to create hybrid
materials from fluoropolymers infused with metals by a patented process.
These hybrid materials are proving to have some unique and useful properties
which could be harnessed in many industrial applications. We're currently
working on developing these further with our US partner.
