Corrosion Management and Paint Replacement
Corrosion in the US military costs $25bn each year. Assets need to be in the peak of operational capability and be flexible in their deployment in diverse theatres of engagement. Having assets deteriorate too quickly and having them off-line for maintenance, is too costly.
The paint replacement appliqués are made from highly durable fluoropolymers and come in a “peel and stick” format. They have been tested to supersonic speeds. The process by which the fluoropolymers are modified is a patented process. The films provide the level of protection specified by DoD programs, including temperature ranges and chemical resistance.
Additionally, it is possible to embed sensors in the film adhesive system resulting in easy condition monitoring of any surface for corrosion.
Lightning Strike Protection

A modified version of the FluoroGrip thin films enables a peel and stick protective layer for critical areas on composite structures. Initially developed for the V22 Osprey blades, the application has also found its way onto wind turbine blades.

With our range of modified adhesives, and capability to engineer solutions, we can provide a unique and totally engineered design of lightning strike applications.
Anti-Graffiti
One variant of the FluoroGrip thin film is a version which uses a High Density FEP fluoropolymer, also known as Teflon™, and is made under license by Integument from DuPont. This material is the most slippery substance known to science, and is able to easily repel graffiti ranging from special paints to shoe and leather dyes, to even resists paint stripper. It makes for cleaner signs and easy and quick maintenance.
The MXMembrane version of FluoroGrip is excellent for use in lining secondary containment areas in extremely toxic environments. Able to withstand elevated and lower temperatures than epoxy coatings, and able to withstand acids and corrosive environments, MXMembrane is ideal for the harshest of applications, giving longer life and lower maintenance costs.
