Polymer Modification

Using both established methods and our own IP, we are able to perform molecular modifications and enhancements to a range of materials and fluids, with a particular expertise in polymers.

Thermally Conductive Polymers

Thermally and electrically conductive Polymers

Polymers are natural insulators, electrically and thermally. By modifying polymers with our technology, we have successfully introduced thermal and electrical characteristics equivalent to that of aluminium but with the lightweight advantages of polymers. Thermal conductivity of over 250 W/mK has been achieved. Thermally conductive but electrically insulating polymers can also be made, including adhesives and films.

High Temperature Flexible Circuits

The application of metals and oxides to the surface of polymers has enabled us to produce a family of flexible products able to withstand extremes of temperature from -55°C to 260°C, with resistance to oils, acids and common chemicals. Conductor resolution down to 10µ is achievable.
Using techniques developed to modify PTFE substrates we are also able to produce flexible, laminated circuits and flat flexible cables for aerospace, weapons and marine applications requiring high survivability during operation.

High Temperature Flexible CircuitsUnique foams

We have a range of unique and technologically advanced PVDF and PEEK foams which we can mould pure or filled, open or closed cell. We are able to apply circuit patterns and seed the matrices to give enhanced properties particularly with respect to RF shielding and variations in dielectric. These represent a technological break-through offering exceptionally high acoustic and thermal insulation.

High performance insulator

Forming the open cell foam as a bolt and applying filament winding enables us to produce fully conformable storage tanks for gases and liquids under pressure. This affords a high level of safety, lightweight construction and enhanced insulation capabilities.
